About Live Oak Cemetery District
Live Oak is an agricultural community located in the fertile Sacramento Valley. Rich farmlands, orchards, the Feather River, and the Sutter Buttes surround Live Oak.
The Union Cemetery of Live Oak was founded in 1905 by H. Luther, A.E. Davis and Richard Johnson, although privately owned in the beginning, the cemtery was formed into The Live Oak Cemetery District on July 7, 1926 as an independent special district governed by a Board of Trustees, appointed by the Board of Supervisors of Sutter County, who serve four-year terms.

To manage and maintain Live Oak and North Butte Cemeteries in a manner that preserves their beauty, dignity, historical and cultural values, and offer affordable interment services for district residents.
